Phan Thiet (Mui Ne)

Maybe the definitive favorite among Saigon expats due to its location and great beach. Even though Vung Tau is a few hours closer, the service level and the quality of the beach normally drags us there. The destination is often called Phan Thiet, but it is actually a small one street city 10 kilometers away that gets the most visitors. Mui Ne is the name and this place is perfect for short term visitors with its abundance of resorts and restaurants. A 4 hour drive from Saigon, it is close enough to escape to for a weekend. (more…)

Vietravel launches three tours to heritage festival

Vietravel has launched three tours to the fourth annual “Quang Nam-itinerary heritage” festival in Quang Nam Province’s Hoi An City June 4-7.

Starting on June 3 is a five-day tour priced at VND6 million per foreign guest which will go to Hue, Phong Nha, Danang and Hoi An. (more…)

Symphony of a Thousand to be performed in Hanoi

The Symphony of a Thousand, also known as Symphony No.8, by famous Austrian composer Gustav Mahler will be staged in Hanoi next year. The symphony will be performed by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra as part of the celebrations of the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, reports the Vietnam News Agency.

The event will not only mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi but will also be of international interest, attracting tourists from around the world to Hanoi, according to the orchestra. (more…)

Windsor to hold beer fest

Windsor Plaza Hotel will host the first annual Beer Fest Saigon June 11 to 13. Beer from around the world will be honored and delicious food, music, games and lucky draws will round out the festival which will start at 6 p.m. each night.
